T<\/span>he sandy beach of La Feniglia stretches over 6 km and is formed by a sand dune that connects Monte Argentario to the mainland, separating the Orbetello Lagoon from the Tyrrhenian Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dune is a beautiful nature reserve, covered in a pine forest of ancient trees. Every kilometer, you can find access points that lead to either the beach side or the inner lagoon, where there are observation points created by the WWF for bird watching enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While walking through nature, you may come across a statue that commemorates Caravaggio, Michelangelo Merisi, the famous painter who, according to legend, was found dying on the beach of La Feniglia in 1609. He later died in the hospital in Porto Ercole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the beach is wild and free, but there are also beach establishments with bars, restaurants, and rental of sunbeds and umbrellas. At the entrance of the nature reserve, you will find a parking lot where you can leave your car and rent a bicycle to explore the various paths.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
